Hermès promotes the first edition of the “Prix Émile Hermès” — “la légèreté au quotidien” is this year’s theme — open to graduating or graduated students in design, architecture, visual arts or applied arts. Independent professional designers, or designers without training, with a minimum three-year certified experience can also participate.
Portugal is among the countries selected to this initiative, along with Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Holland and England.

The organization invited Guta Moura Guedes to represent Portugal in the Selection Commitee.

Guta Moura Guedes was invited to curate one of the four main exhibitions of Torino 2008 World Design Capital. The exhibition shall be inaugurated on June 28, 2008. Ten international designers will be invited to produce site-specific installations according to the theme. More information soon.
